This elegant silk scarf is a wearable work of art! It is dyed with all natural indigo and cochineal dyes as well as real coreopsis flowers to create permanent colors in a one-of-a-kind design. The silk fabric feels so soft against your skin and it's a perfect accessory for all seasons.
The center of the scarf is creamy white and the edges are dyed light blue. Traveling along the center of the scarf are orange flower prints and purple speckles made with natural cochineal dye.
To create the flower prints, real coreopsis were bundled with the fabric and heated to allow them to leave their permanent pigments behind. The process of printing fabric with real flowers (or leaves) is known as "eco printing" or "botanical dyeing." No inks, dyes or pigments were used to create the vivid colors of the flowers. The fabric of this scarf is luxurious silk charmeuse. The front side has a beautiful sheen while the reverse is matte.
You will receive the exact scarf shown in the photos.
Size: 14 X 72 inches (35.5 X 183 cm)
Materials: 100% silk
Care & Handling:
- Gently hand wash.
- Use mild soaps.
- No tumble dry. Hang or lay flat to dry.
- Iron using silk settings.
- Do not dry clean.
Eco-Printing requires the application of heat and pressure to fabric, often resulting in a more textured appearance of the fabric. While small wrinkles in the fabric may ease over time, they are a semi-permanent feature of the eco-printing process.
